The Facilities Technician, under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, provides support for the maintenance-related needs of the buildings and grounds. The Facilities Technician should have some experience in plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with members of the Maintenance Department team to complete assigned work orders and daily routines
  • Respond to emergency situations as a part of the Maintenance Department team for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns 
  • Make general repairs to the building and grounds (e.g. painting, hanging shelves, landscaping, etc.)
  • Assists, or performs solo when needed, general and detailed cleaning of building and grounds; performing a variety of custodial tasks
  • Keep track of and complete daily routine jobs (e.g. cleaning the lunchroom, setting up road signage, etc.)
  • Operate hand and power tools (e.g. drills, saws, snow throwers, etc.)
  • Oversees and performs the duties associated with events, including executing the set-up plan in a timely manner, break-downs are completed on schedule with spaces returned to normal state
  • Performs routine daily inspections of assigned buildings and spaces
Basic requirements include but are not limited to:
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of the following: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry
  • Skills to operate hand and power tools and knowledge of standards for the safe use of equipment
  • Able to perform a variety of tasks, understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Work with a team
  • Be physically able to meet the significant demands of the job including but not limited to standing or walking for prolonged periods, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, seeing
  • Coordinate jobs/projects based on priority set by Facilities Manager
